Hi, I'm Scott
I'm a Boston raised designer who's been making art since I was a kid. I've always had an eye for visual creativity, from creating World of Warcraft forum signatures in Photoshop for guildmates in 2005 to watercolor tattoo painting today. That creative foundation shaped how I see the world.

I studied linguistics in college and became fascinated by how language works. I've learned German (studied abroad) and Mandarin (lived in Taiwan for two years and picked it up through daily life and friendships). Those experiences taught me that language and design solve the same problem: helping people understand complex ideas clearly.

That dual perspective defines my work. I care about clean type and strong systems. I approach both visuals and language as things to be built and refined at scale. My process brings the user to the forefront.

I'm currently based in Indiana, where life is happily shared with my husband, Julius, and our dog, Nova.
My Career so far
I started in Boston in 2009 at Black Ink, where precise merchandising taught me how simple design can make everyday things feel special. At Au Marché I moved into real design work; flyers and product labels. Then at Footprints I became GM and the in-house designer, building the site, marketing emails, store materials, and an animated TV commercial.

I launched Pixel Nook Studio in 2017 to handle brand identity, Webflow/Shopify builds, packaging, and print. I applied that full-stack approach to three ventures I built from the ground up: Anomaly, a gift boutique designed end-to-end from name and brand to packaging and in-store experience; Harbor Leaf Tea Co., a loose-leaf tea brand with identity, e-commerce, premium packaging, and high-end photography; and most recently Laurel Editions, a modern wedding stationery studio where I led brand and voice, Shopify build, content, and art direction for the full collection.

Since 2021 I've partnered with Fast Forward Group on launches, refreshes, and campaigns across web, print, and presentation decks, always aiming for clear and consistent brand identity. Over 15 years I've developed an approach that's calm, practical, and systems-driven — clean type, strong hierarchy, and repeatable design ops that scale.
